About Aaron

Aaron Saunders was born and raised in Ludlow where his mother Ruth was an educator in the public schools for over thirty years and his late father Bob was a marriage and family therapist. Aaron credits his parents for his early and ongoing passion around education and mental and behavioral healthcare and a drive to serve the community.  

Entirely public school educated, Aaron is a 2003 graduate of the University of Massachusetts and has made a home in Belchertown with his wife Melissa three children Sophia (age ten), Roslyn (age four), and Madison (age two).


Aaron has over twenty years of experience in local, state, and federal government including six years as Chief of Staff to former Senator Gale Candaras and seven years serving on the Ludlow Select Board. In addition to his public sector work, Aaron is co-founder of Loophole Brewing and serves in several additional civic roles. Aaron has a strong history of working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to get the project done, be it opening up the Ludlow Reservoir to the public or helping small businesses. Aaron works across party lines with the expertise to get things accomplished.
