About Aaron Saunders

Aaron was born in Springfield and raised in Ludlow, Massachusetts with his parents and brother. Aaron attended the town’s public schools and upon graduating from Ludlow High School, he attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst earning a degree in Political Science in 2003.

Aaron’s public service began at an early age. At 18, he was elected as a Town Meeting member from precinct 1 in Ludlow, soon after he was hired by Senator John Kerry to serve in his Western Massachusetts regional office where he focused on constituent services and local affairs. In 2006 when then Representative Gale Candaras ran for State Senate, Aaron was tapped to manage the campaign and was subsequently asked to serve as Senator Candaras’ Chief of Staff. Over the six years he served as Chief of Staff, Aaron worked on a number of issues both at the State House and in the district assisting Senator Candaras bring jobs and economic develop projects to Western Massachusetts. In 2008 Aaron was elected to the Ludlow Board of Selectmen. He was elected twice more and is currently in his seventh year on the Board.

Aaron is an avid outdoorsman in his free time as well as an animal rescue advocate. In addition to his work on the Board of Selectmen, Aaron is a Corporator for the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club and sits on the Legislative Steering Committee of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield.
